Physiotherapy Costs, Session Length & What to Expect

A practical guide to physiotherapy fees, session length, your first visit, follow-up care, and insurance claims at heal360 Physioclinic.

Current published prices live on the Fees page. This page explains what those visits usually involve.

How much does physiotherapy cost?

A first physiotherapy assessment is currently S$180 before GST for 45 minutes.

Follow-up physiotherapy sessions are currently S$150 to S$180 before GST for 30 to 45 minutes. If you ask to see a Senior or Principal physiotherapist, an additional S$30 to S$60 surcharge may apply.

These figures are a brief snapshot of the published physiotherapy fees. They can change. For the full current schedule, payment methods, cancellation policy, and re-assessment rules, use the Fees page.

heal360 programmes begin with a separate assessment pathway. If you are looking at a programme rather than physiotherapy, start on the Programmes page.

How long is a physiotherapy session?

The first physiotherapy session is typically 45 minutes. That time is for your history, an assessment, an explanation of the findings, and a first plan. Treatment may begin in that visit when it is appropriate.

Follow-up sessions are usually 30 minutes. If several areas need attention, or the presentation is more complex, a longer session can be discussed with you beforehand.

Please arrive about 10 minutes early so the booked time can be used for care. If you arrive late, the session is not usually extended beyond the scheduled end time. The full session fee may still apply. Those details are on the Fees page.

What happens at your first appointment?

Your physiotherapist will ask about your symptoms, health history, daily demands at home, work or sport, and what you want to be able to do. They will then assess relevant movement and function.

They should explain what they found and discuss a plan with you. That plan is a starting point, not a fixed protocol. Treatment may begin at the first appointment when it is appropriate.

You should leave knowing the recommended next step, what to do between visits if anything is advised, and how to ask if something is unclear. Shorter answers to common questions also live on the FAQ page.

What happens during follow-up sessions?

Follow-up visits review how you have been since the last session, what you have been able to do, and any change in symptoms. The plan is then adjusted.

Care may include hands-on treatment, guided exercise, education, movement practice, and advice you can use between appointments. The mix depends on your presentation. No single technique is right for everyone.

How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?

There is no standard number that fits every person.

How many visits you need depends on the condition, how long it has been present, its severity, your health, your goals, and how you respond to treatment and to any plan you can follow between appointments.

After the first assessment, your physiotherapist can recommend a starting plan and should review it with you as you go. If progress is slower than hoped, or physiotherapy is not the right next step, they should discuss that with you rather than continue a plan that is not helping.

When should I expect results?

No ethical clinic can promise a particular result, a recovery date, or that physiotherapy will replace other medical care.

Some people notice a change in comfort or confidence with movement sooner. Others need more time, especially after surgery, with longer-standing symptoms, or when several issues are involved.

What “better” means should be agreed with you — for example, walking more comfortably, sleeping with less interruption, or returning to a specific activity. Progress is reviewed against those goals, not against a promised outcome.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

A little preparation helps the first visit stay focused.

  • Comfortable clothing that lets the physiotherapist see and move the area being assessed. Shorts or exercise wear can help.
  • Any doctor’s referral, previous physiotherapy or medical reports, and imaging results such as X-ray or MRI if you have them.
  • After surgery, the protocol or discharge instructions from your surgeon.
  • A list of relevant medications or health information that may affect safe care.

Do not send sensitive documents through the general enquiry form. Bring them to the appointment, or ask the clinic how to share them securely.

Can I claim physiotherapy through insurance?

Yes, many people attend using insurance. But there are also as many who do not and pay for physiotherapy privately.

If you do hope to claim, please check your policy with your insurer or employer before the appointment. Coverage and paperwork differ. You may need a referral letter from a doctor, GP, or specialist.

Fees are usually paid first. You then claim using the clinic receipt. The clinic cannot promise that a claim will be accepted.

Payment methods and the clinic’s claim-process notes are on the Fees page.
