How Physiotherapy can help in Sciatica?

Physiotherapy plays an important role in the diagnosis and conservative management of sciatica. Our therapist will conduct a detailed assessment and neurological exam to identify the extent of the problem. A treatment plan will then be formulated to ensure the most effective recovery.

Treatment may involve manual therapy, massage, stretches and specific strengthening exercises, traction and advice on postural corrections.

In most cases, physiotherapy is all that is required to ensure recovery, however if symptoms do not resolve, further investigations such as Xray, CT scan or referral to a specialist may be required.

It is important that you do not ignore the pain and are given the right advice and management. We are here to help you stop your pain and prevent further recurrences
